Meet Sara, one of our admins!

Meet Sara, one of our admins!

In this interview we meet Sara, one of our lovely admins. Have a look at what she has to say!

1. Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi! My name is Sara, I’m 20 years old and I’m one of the admins of @prettylittlelondon. I study Fashion Retail Management at London Metropolitan University, as fashion is one of my passions. When I’m not at uni, I love wandering around London looking for hidden gems and cool places to capture.

2. Where do you live in London and what do you like/dislike about that area?

I live in London Bridge, an area that I have always liked. My house is really close to the Borough Market, to the Tower Bridge and I can even see the The Shard in all its majesty from my bedroom window! The thing I like the most is that I can walk to my university every morning, avoiding the underground rush hour chaos and enjoying the sunrise from the London Bridge. It’s hard to think of something I dislike about this area, but if I am forced to pick, I would say that is really noisy in the morning.

3. If you could choose one place in London to live in, what would it be?

It is a difficult choice, but it will have to be in the Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. I really like the classy terraced houses with their white columns! Or at Buckingham Palace with the Queen, that wouldn’t be too bad either.

4. What restaurants would you recommend?

I have a thing for restaurants with view such as Aqua Shard or Darwin Brasserie at the Sky Garden, the food is delicious and the view, well,  it’s just amazing! For brunch I would definitely go to Duck and Waffle, it’s the highest restaurant in UK and it’s open 24\7. It’s the perfect spot to catch the sunrise! But my favorite by far is still the Sketch.

5. Where do you like going out on a weekend?

As I don’t have much free time during the week, on Saturdays and Sundays I usually go out, taking pictures for @prettylittlelondon. When it’s sunny I love wandering around Notting Hill, Soho or the lovely St. James Park. When it comes to partying my favourite areas are Oxford Circus and Mayfair, which are surrounded by chic restaurants and the most exclusive clubs.

6. If you could choose to have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it in London?

I would pick the power of teleportation. Why? Well, let’s say that I don’t really have too much sympathy for the tube and for any public transport in general. I really enjoy walking instead, but sometimes some places are just too far! So yeah, I guess teleportation would be the perfect solution to my problems 😉

7. Are there any hidden gems you know about that you would like to share?

I recommend the area around Hillgate in Notting Hill, it is just so lovely and quiet, far from the buzz of the tourists, as very few non-Londoners know about it. Another unusual area that I love is Neal’s Yard, just off to Covent Garden. Its bright colours will leave you breathless, I promise! Last but not least, I could not leave out my favourite park, Richmond. It is a little bit out of the way but it is worth to pay a visit. It’s really beautiful and not to mention the deers!

8. If you could change 3 things about London, what would they be?

I would say one is the grey sky! Although it has its charm, London is so beautiful when it is sunny and it can’t be compared to any city in the world. Also, I would make housing more affordable for everyone and teach Italian restaurants how to actually make Italian food!

9. Other than London, is there any other city in the world you think is a must? Why?

I have honestly never been there but, for what I know, New York is a city that you have to visit once in a lifetime. So, Big Apple wait for me!
