Summer is approaching, and every Londoner is looking forward to a bit of sunshine after a long gloomy winter. To ensure that you find the best spot for a nice cocktail, we have been visiting the best rooftop bars in town. This one here is the lovely SkyLounge by Double Tree Hilton.

The venue

The Skylounge is on the 12th floor of the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London and has a superb view of the city skyline. It is the hotel’s premium destination bar and is located in the heart of London and serves innovative dishes and signature cocktails. You can enjoy 360-degree views and fresh air from two terraces, and you can admire the Tower Bridge, The Shard, the Tower of London, River Thames, Gherkin and St. Paul’s Cathedral. The nearest tube station is Tower Hill station on the District and Circle line.

Our experience

We were lucky enough to visit the SkyLounge on a sunny day, therefore we were able to see a nice pinky sunset. The atmosphere in this rooftop bar is really lively, as there is a DJ that sets the mood. Therefore, we decided to order some cocktails and some small bites. We went for the Love Affair, a mix of Beefeater Gin, Aperol and French aperitif Byrrh, together with lemon juice, egg white, raspberry syrup and a dash of Peychaud’s Bitters, and for the Almond & Honey, made of Disaronno, passion fruit purée, honey, lemon juice and egg white.

The cocktails were beautiful to the eyes, really tasty and refreshing, and the view was truly amazing.

If you are looking for a glamorous rooftop bar where you can enjoy a cocktail while listening to vibrant music, you should definitely try the SkyLounge. The service is fast and nice, and it is worth going for the view alone. Be sure to pick a nice sunny day (we know, not an easy task in London) and enjoy the sunset while admiring The City of London skyline.
