The Knightsbridge Hotel Afternoon Tea

The Knightsbridge Hotel Afternoon Tea

We all know that tea is a big part of a Londoner’s life. That is why we from @prettylittlelondon are always looking for the perfect spot for a good afternoon tea. Finding a place for an afternoon tea is certainly not a difficult task here in London. But finding one that is a little more special is not easy. So, wandering around the iconic neighborhood of Knightsbridge, we found the coziest and most intimate place for an afternoon tea you can think of!

The Knightsbridge Hotel is situated on a quiet tree-lined street in the heart of Knightsbridge, where the most luxurious department stores such Harrods and Harvey Nichols are just a minute’s walk away. Hyde Park and the museums of South Kensington are all within a short walking distance.

The Location

What makes The Knightsbridge Hotel’s afternoon tea peculiar is it’s relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere. The tea room is not chaotic, and it is in the hotel’s own beautiful drawing room or library.

The Afternoon Tea

The selection of teas was delicious, made with the finest blends you can think of, going from a lovely Silver Needle to a tempting Egyptian Chamomile. We chose a nice White Jasmine, made of freshly-picked jasmin flowers, which we always find is a great accompaniment to tea and cake. After a short while our tray arrived, full of the most charming savouries and pretty and delicate cakes. Between season fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and preserves and the assortment of traditional tea sandwiches, we really didn’t know where to begin!

We were curious to know what everything was, so inquisitive as we are, we asked our waiter. The tray featured egg mayo, rocket cream cheese, avocado salad and coronation chicken sandwiches, banana and walnut and white chocolate tiffany pastries, chocolate and raspberry cream cupcakes and some warm plain scones. As you can see, really a lot to choose from!

Our view

If you are looking for a nice and quiet place for an afternoon tea, which gives you that feeling of exclusivity, this is certainly the place for you. The White Jasmine tea was the best we have ever tasted, and the pairing tray had a great variety of goodies. Moreover, as you can see from the pictures, the beautiful drawing room and library give your afternoon tea that sophisticated touch. So if you are ever in Knightsbridge, exhausted from all your shopping and the crazy tourists, don’t forget to stop at the Knightsbridge Hotel for a lovely warm afternoon tea!
