Meet Mona from @monalogue

In this interview we meet the lovely @monalogue from Briston, have a look at what she wants to share with us!

1. Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Mona and I’m a 22 year old student at the university of Bristol. I’m studying Psychology and I also work in social media marketing and photography jobs a couple of days a week, and finally I make celebration and wedding cakes on top of that. I live with my dad and my sister in a little village just outside of Bristol. Because they are vegan health freaks I do a lot of vegan and healthy baking in my spare time, so this is what you’ll find on my Instagram.

2. Where do you live in London and what do you like/dislike about that area?

Although I don’t actually live in London I spend a lot of time there, and most of the photos on Instagram and my blog seem to be of London. I visit at least a couple of weekends a month at the moment, which is a great arrangement for me because I enjoy downtime of the train/bus journey and each visit costs me about £7! I’m not sure I could live in London because we have a lot of space living in the middle of nowhere, and the luxury of wondering around in uninhabited fields is such a good way to unwind.

3. If you could choose one place in London to live in, what would it be?

I would like to live somewhere a little further out, like Greenwich or Hampstead Heath. It’s nice to have a balance between easy access to the centre and a bit of quiet escape at your feet.

4. What restaurants would you recommend?

My favourite place for coffee and cake is Timberyard, partly because everything is so well presented you can always photograph it!

5. Where do you like going out on a weekend?

If I’m in London I will go where my friends are going, which so far has never been consistent! I like going for a daytime walk around Primrose Hill or Spitalfields.

6. If you could choose to have one superpower, what would it be and how would you use it in London?

This is a bit obscure, but I would love to be able to make everyone happy and to take themselves less seriously. Sometimes when you’re on the tube people push passed and act like they are really important. It would be nice if everyone could be down to earth and get along. London would be a more enjoyable place!

7. Are there any hidden gems you know about that you would like to share?

The things I think of as gems are only really hidden from the typical tourist perspective. I think Elder street and Fournier street in Spitalfields are every instagrammers dream, though naturally every instagrammer now knows about them.

8. If you could change 3 things about London, what would they be?

Firstly less crowded because crowds stress me out. Secondly I wish living was affordable or that the wealth is shared out. Finally I wish it was easier to cycle!

9. Other than London, is there any other city in the world you think is a must? Why?

It’s a difficult question because there are so many cities that are amazing for different reasons. My favourite city that I’ve visited is Toronto in Canada. The people were SO friendly and helpful and there were masses of things to see and do. If you visit make sure you visit the island, which has adorable little houses, great views of the city and a lovely little restaurant.
