Our Favourite 5 Rooftop Bars in London

Is there a better way to enjoy London and appreciate all its beauty than from above? This beautiful city has so many pretty places with breathtaking views to offer! Especially during the summer rooftop bars become one of the most popular choices for spending some time with friends. We absolutely love exploring the new ones and enjoying delicious cocktails while admiring the incredible shapes of our favourite city, so here is a list of some of our favourites.

Aviary

To appreciate a complete view of the City of London, Aviary is undoubtedly one of the best rooftop bars to go to. The large terrace offers a broad view of the London skyline and its amazing skyscrapers. The pretty cocktails are inspired by some of the most beautiful birds and decorated with colourful plumage. The food choice is varied and interesting, from small plates to proper main courses. Aviary is definitely the perfect place to take a deep breath from the stressful Citylife and relax with good drinks!

Madison

We have been to Madison several times and it has never disappointed us with its unique view of St. Paul’s Cathedral, which is literally stunning. It seems to be close enough to appreciate all the details of the dome and during sunset time there is nothing better than toasting on the terrace with this pretty view. Music, cool drinks and outdoor tables create the perfect environment to enjoy a summer day in our beloved city.

Radio Rooftop

Radio Rooftop bar boasts one of the best views in London. You can see most of the iconic buildings and monuments of London: from The Shard to the London Eye and The Big Ben, it’s a continuous surprise. Located in a super central area, immediately next to Covent Garden, Radio Rooftop is one of the best places to go to enjoy such a unique and exciting view of London. We love to experiment with new drinks on their stylish and instagrammable terrace!

12th Knot

12th Knot is located on the 12th floor of the sea containers’ building and it has a lovely view on the Thames and St Paul’s Cathedral. Walking along the Thames is one of our favourite things to do in spring and summertime, we absolutely love the atmosphere and the vibes of the area and this rooftop bar is the perfect spot to stop and enjoy fabulous food and drinks. We adored every dish: from the crispy squid to the salmon poke and the cheese board, everything was so yummy!

Social 24

Located in the city, Social 24 is a splendid venue offers a breathtaking view of almost 360 degrees. It’s possible to not only admire in all their beauty buildings such as Sky Garden, The Gerking and The Shard, but also to enjoy delicious summer drinks and eat inviting and tasty small dishes like fried avocado and truffle arancini (we fell in love with them!). This rooftop bar is a pleasant surprise and we can’t wait to go back and experience the Michelin-starred restaurant or to book their new private room (it has the most beautiful view and the privilege of having a window right on the kitchen!).
