Tea tasting at Piacha Tea Bar - Islington

Tea tasting at Piacha Tea Bar - Islington

Fancy an original and alternative afternoon tea? Walking around Islington on a typical British rainy day, we found ourselves staring at this cute little tea shop called Piacha. We couldn’t resist, we just had to enter.

We were greeted by very warming staff who made us feel comfortable and at home. The atmosphere was very relaxing and they asked us if we wanted to “smell” their great selection of blends and choose our favourite.

As it all looked really inviting, we decided to try a bit of everything. The staff was very kind and they gave us tips on what kind of blends we should pair with our food.

We tried the Jasmine Green Tea, the Milky Oolong, the Moroccan Mint and the Ginger Chilli. We really recommend each one of them!
We were getting hungry and we decided to try the Apple Honey Brie sandwich and the Genmaicha Salmon sandwich, which we were told are made with tea. Also, we thought we would give the tea smoothies a try.

We went for the Classic Earl Grey Peach Ice Tea Smoothie and the Matcha Blueberry Milkshake Smoothie, which we found really refreshing and rich in flavour. You could really taste the quality of the tea!
Last but not least, we could not help but try their home made matcha ice cream. Matcha, for who doesn’t know yet, is a solution made by tea leaves that have been powdered.

Fed and refreshed, we thanked the lovely staff and continued our walk around Islington.

Our view

This lovely little tea bar in Islington really knows its thing. You can find any variety of tea you can think of, and everything has tea in its ingredients. At the end, we were surprised that the chairs and tables weren’t made of tea as well (maybe they were, we didn’t ask!).
Are you mad about tea? This is surely the right place for you to release the tea nerd within. And even if you are not a tea expert, the staff will help you find the perfect combination for your afternoon tea.
